系统从其生产的产品接收最新信息。通过其独一无二的条码，每个工件都将持续不断地向不计其数的传感器提供关于其状态、要求及下一步生产工序等的信息。这是轻松管理日益复杂的产品的唯一途径，因为西门子计划未来在安贝格和成都生产许多不同型号的产品。这个系统也将大大简化开发人员、产品工程师和生产工程师等之间的数据共享。

安贝格：榜样。成都工厂的员工深为这个系统架构而自豪。在物流部门工作的Li Yan表示：“我着实喜欢SEWC，因为所有生产过程都是由综合IT系统管理。”成都工厂的高度自动化生产过程不仅激起了西门子员工的兴趣，在其落成的第一年，这座工厂还吸引了2000多位非西门子参观者来访。

安贝格工厂是成都工厂的榜样。SEWC的商务总监Stefan Gottwald解释道：“我们只想使用来自EWA的成熟系统。”然而，成都工厂与安贝格工厂并非一模一样。因为SEWC尚在建设和扩建中，其绩效相比安贝格工厂仍有一段差距。EWA的月产量为100万件Simatic产品，而SEWC的月产量则仅为6万件。但是，占地3200平方米的成都工厂在规模上仅为安贝格工厂的三分之一。未来，SEWC的产量必将增至目前的4倍。也正是因为其产量较低，成都工厂尚未像安贝格工厂那样达到75%的自动化率。产品多元化的情况也是如此，除集中生产Simatic S7-200控制系统之外，只生产了少数其他元件。而安贝格工厂则生产了约1000种不同产品。不过，SEWC每个月都要增产4到6种产品。
